Body positivity movement and weight loss drugs, let's not be reactive regarding trans, it is trans extremism, not trans that is the problem, and what is trans extremism.
BREAKTHROUGH ON WEIGHT LOSS DRUGS – BODY POSITIVITY MOVEMENT AND FAT LIBERATION MOVEMENT IN PERIL
The title of the article is, “The ‘breakthrough’ obesity drugs that have stunned researchers.” The drug is tirzepatide.
What got my attention is how the people in the Body Positivity movement and Fat Liberation movement realize that their movement could come to an end. I will discuss that after first giving the background information.
This is Nature magazine, not some content farm pretending to be a science website. I am going to review it, but for those really up on their science you can click on this link.
https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-022-04505-7
The loss with tirzepatide is 21% versus 3% for a placebo. If you were 250 pounds, that would be 50 pounds loss roughly.
The decades of research and figuring out how weight is controlled and how control systems can fail has finally paid off. This article has a good graphic showing the discoveries starting in the 1980s and gradually leading to the present successful trial of the drugs.
They aren’t sure why it works so well, but with modern biomolecular science and technology no doubt they will find out and then go on to design the next generation of drugs that work even better, though this current generation seems to work really well.
My experience in reading science magazines, is when they find one drug that works, that it is possible, the whole field fires up. One thing is that there is suddenly the opportunity to make lots of money and there is the realization that it can be done.
The other thing is that once it can be done at all, how it can be done is figured out, and then it is a matter of figuring out how it can be done better.
There are still some issues, how well will people be able to keep the weight off when they stop taking the injections. A study of an earlier generation drug found that when they stopped the drug and stopped the study’s lifestyle interventions people gained about two-thirds back. What I would have been interested if they had stopped the drug and kept the lifestyle intervention how that would have worked. Even so, keeping one-third of the weight loss isn’t bad.
This of course doesn’t say anything about how the current drug will do for permanent weight loss. I would hope that losing weight and then working on lifestyle changes would keep it off. I think not wanting to gain it back, might encourage person to keep at the lifestyle change.
Also, there might be some technology where they can have it without injections.
Being overweight has a lot of secondary medical effects and contributes a lot to health care costs in the United States. This could have a big impact on lowering health care costs and premiums in the United States which have a huge economic impact. If the health care costs of your employees are less, you can produce goods and services at lower costs.
However, what caught my attention is the obvious fear of some people of them losing a victim class.
Thus, there is fault finding. From the article:
Some researchers also worry that by offering a weight solution in societies that prize thinness, these drugs could also inadvertently reinforce the disputed link between excess weight and health. One study found that nearly 30% of people who are considered obese are metabolically healthy. [Boldface added.]
Which means over 70% are not metabolically heathy. They are grasping for straws to find faults.
The Body Positivity movement and the Fat Liberation movement isn’t slow to realize that this drug, and possible better drugs in the future could be the termination of their movements. From the article:
However, some researchers worry that these drugs play into some societies’ obsession with being thin. Body size isn’t always a good predictor of health. “I’m really hesitant to be excited about something that I think is potentially harmful from a weight stigma perspective,” says Sarah Nutter, a psychologist at the University of Victoria in Canada, who specializes in weight stigma and body image.
Notice that the false opposite being made here. Instead of a major breakthrough with major health benefits, we are remaking it as an cultural problem with a supposed “obsession.”
The article points out that drug actually works to get rid of stigma since being overweight can be seen as a medical issue, but don’t tell that to the Fat Liberation people or Nutter.
Later in the article Nutter wants to argue that being overweight isn’t such a health problem, and Nutter is afraid people might take the drugs just to be thin. If people want to be thin, so what? Nutter wants to control people.
The real problem is cost.
The prior generation drug, is $1300 a month and what will be the cost of the current drug is not known since it isn’t offered to the public yet. Insurance companies might regard it has a vanity drug, that is, not for a health condition. I think though that the government at state and local levels will want people to have access.
If it turns out a year or two of this drug or the next drug results in permanent weight loss, there certainly will be less of a strain on the nation’s health care systems and likely fewer cases of diabetes, neuropathy, and heart surgeries and flat feet.
Likely with demand there might be manufacturing learning curve and costs will drop. Once you have significant sales you can afford to have a research team to work on the science and manufacturing. It is called the learning curve.
Additionally, with one big profit-making drug, likely a lot of companies will be looking for other drugs to compete with tirzepatide either by being more effective or cheaper.
Americans still need to stop eating the garbage food they eat, and the Fat Liberation movement and Body Positivity movement have undermined this.
I have seen people complain it is genetics or talk Fat Liberation and stuff their faces with fast food garbage.
I will likely do a single topic post on this and the Fab Liberation movement, but I think it is a good idea to get this information about to people.
I will cover the new discoveries in anti-aging science in another post. I am not talking about quackery; the real science is there.
These guys are going to be really bent out of shape.

TRANS VS. TRANS EXTREMIST
I try to remember to use the term “trans extremist” and not just “trans.” Most trans people are just trying to make their way through the world and they aren’t into the crazy stuff. Also, even if something they say isn’t true, if it doesn’t affect me, I don’t care. I do feel concerned how they make their way through the world.
What I am concerned about is trans aggressions. The condemnations of Gays who don’t want to have sex with them, stealth practices, invasions of Gay sexual spaces, and lecturing to the Gay community as to who they are, what their identity is, etc.
YOU CAN’T FIGHT TRANS EXTREMISM IF YOU ARE TRANSPHOBIC
The trans extremists throw out the term transphobic at anything and everything that their trans extremism doesn’t like, so there is the tendency or temptation to disregard any issue of transphobia.
What I am concerned about what is aggression against Gays.
I am not concerned about what doesn’t have a real impact on Gays.
Example (1): The British Airways adopted all sorts of uniforms so trans people could have uniforms that would work for them. Was it coming out of gender ideology? Probably, but it was something you might do without gender ideology.
I wasn’t bothered by it. The garment looked reasonable and I would be concerned whether the service was good.
Lots of people on Twitter were all bent out of shape. I see that as being in a reactive and not thinking mode where you are so fired up to attack you have stopped thinking.
Example (2): Maybe their attempt to pass as the gender of their choice looks like it is really failing and maybe to me and others it is discordant. So what?
A lot of Gay people in attempting to look good are failing and seem to me are deluded.
Failing to pass or really looking unattractive isn’t a real issue, otherwise many more people would be an issue than just trans.
What concerns me:
1. Lectures that I am a bad person because I am not going to date a trans person. Or being upset that Gays in general won’t date you. Attempts to stigmatize Gays such as using terms like “genital fetish,” etc. This includes demanding I justify my sexuality.
2. Or advocating practices that violate the basic ethical concept of informed consent. That is going stealth. Or not telling a guy that you are trans until you meetup.
3. Or wanting to redefine the activities of and practices of the Gay community to have them centered on trans. That is appropriation. Wanting to ban drag at Pride events in particular and ban drag in general. Or judging what goes on in the Gay community with what is fairly obvious is by the standards of a heterosexual woman.
4. Complaining about blow back from stealth. You didn’t tell the person on Grindr or wherever you first were in contact that you were trans. The person shows up for a meet up and then in the meeting you reveal. Going on about you have a right to control when you reveal your identity is correct, but choices have consequences. Relationships involve two people and are about honesty. There are both acts of commission and omission which deceive.
The victim here is the Gay person who showed up and from whom critical information was withheld. Deceit is never charming and some Gays will be expressive about it. Others will attempt to be emotionally in control over this, but will give expressions of shock. Almost all will want to end the meeting as soon as possible. The transman will then complain and complain on social media.
Complaining about Gays who are undermining stealth. Gays tell each other critical information and that would include letting a friend know you are trans.
5. Complaining that Gays don’t have a trans world view. Not all the Gays at the night club or on the hookup apps have been to a graduate seminar or read the latest social justice media. They are working, surviving, and generally living their lives. Trans issues aren’t the center of their universe. Unlike the Gay guy who has done post-graduate work, they will just say what they think. They will say they want a “real dick,” a man with a full set of functioning sexual organs.
What Gays don’t want to hear is you inventing categories like “flesh cocks” so you just have your different “cock” which is just another cock in the general category of cocks. Or really any other lecture, during which, if possible, we will be moving away from you.
However, a lot that what transmen who have decided they are Gay do, doesn’t bother me too much. They may go to a Gay club; I don’t know where they might go otherwise. Generally, if it isn’t impacting me, however absurd something might sound to me, it isn’t a problem.
Let’s focus on real issues, and not what might be just a matter of choice or what is just a matter of live and let live.
Be against trans aggression, don’t be transphobic.

We see a lot of make up identities and stuff and nonsense within the LGBTQXYZ.
R/GAYTRANSGUYS
I should make it clear that I am only showing posts from this subreddit related to either aggressions against Gays or when an impact to the Gay community is involved. Most of the posts are about figuring how to exist. A lot of them are sad.
The ever-repeating story. Once again finds out that the pan or bi guy isn’t having Gay sex with you, but is just a horny straight guy that wants sex from desperate “transmen.”
This guy is supposedly “bi.” This issue comes up repeatedly. Some guy is having vaginal sex with a transman and the guy is “bi” or “pan” which allows the Gay transman to think they are having Gay sex. This at some point it becomes apparent that the guy was just having heterosexual sex all along and was just telling the transman what the transman wanted to hear.
Invades a Gay sexual space and is surprised and upset by the negative Gay reaction. This is the reality. Gays in spaces for sexual gratification don’t want to see things that aren’t that of Gay men.
This is what the transman says.
Honestly don’t know what I expected from reddit. Just browsing a gay porn sub where the theme was GW Friday and a trans dude posted his dick, and I know my first mistake was thinking that the comments would be positive (because it was a really nice looking dick tbf) but no. Shouldn’t have opened the comments. “That’s not a dick” “In the most gender affirming way possible, that’s not a dick” (which is the comment that irked me the most personally) “ew I hate seeing pussy where I wasn’t expecting it” and literally everyone being positive about it was downvoted. And now I’m not even in the mood to jerk off anymore.
The other “gaytransguys” commenting on this post entirely don’t recognize that they are invading a Gay space either.
DON’T NEED DONATIONS, COULD USE WRITINGS AND REVIEWS.
Someone has offered a pledge. That is very nice and it is flattering and thanks for the offer. However, I don’t need the money.
What I could use is someone to help out with some simple topics of research. Are all my Gay art list posts overlooking some good Gay artists for example.
Another thing is book reviews. What are the good Gay popular writings, who is a good Gay poet you like?
