Mobilizing to fight censorship of Gay art.
People liked the post, but I didn’t get a single DM about organizing to fight censorship. Instead there was a Facebook group afraid to allow the post about fighting censorship. How serious are we about fighting the censorship of Gay art? Is it because we don’t think we can do anything about it? I think we can.

This is the notice on the webpage of Ken Paxton.
I wrote up a story for it for the local Dallas Gay Liberation newsletter. This could have a devastating impact on medicine in Texas.
A new strain of mpox and a new deadlier threat. Or not?
The article is titled, “Amid Congo’s deadliest mpox outbreak, a new worry: virus has become sexually transmissible.”
“The WHO report and a study out today also explore a worrisome possibility: that the strain of virus in DRC, far deadlier than the one that drove the global outbreak, is in some cases spreading between sexual partners.”
However, in reading the article, the situation seems to be less clear. The key word is “worry,” and in the article they say “worrisome possibility.” They don’t definitively know because of a variety of issues. One is that prior years had less monitoring and so the death tool may not have risen. Two reports contradict each other.
Another problem is prejudice against men who have sex with men (MSM) make it difficult to know what is happening. MSM don’t want to be visible.
Epidemiologist Anne Rimoin of the University of California at Los Angeles, another EID co-author, has studied mpox in DRC for two decades and says it’s unclear whether sexual transmission made a significant contribution to the apparent explosion in cases—or whether it’s truly even a new phenomenon in the country. “If you’re not looking for it, you’re unlikely to find it,” says Rimoin. She adds that people with genital lesions may not seek care, especially if they are MSM or sex workers. “There's stigma associated with transmission in this manner, so it's going to be very hard to document,” she says.
There isn’t vaccine available there.
If the new variety of mpox is sexually transmitted and it is deadlier, it is extremely unlikely that it will remain in the Congo.
Does the Biden Administration have a comprehensive plan for mpox. Does the LGBT media even care? Did the issue of a shortage of vaccine for mpox ever get resolved?
The establishment LGBT “leadership” locally here in Dallas avoided the topic. LGBT groups whined that “it wasn’t a Gay disease,” when 98.5 of the cases in Dallas County were men, and world wide scientific reporting said it was MSM who were getting it.
One of the problems with an LGBTQXYZ movement, is that specific needs of Gays tend to get lost, and the Gays in the LGBTQXYZ are somewhat removed from the life of everyday Gays.
I was able to save this website to the Internet Archive just in time.
It was a really good webpage with the photos of African Gay artists Jim Chuchu and his work against homophobia in Africa.
The Internet Archive is an important tool to save stuff from oblivion. It is free.
It doesn’t work much if at all with Facebook, but for a lot of webpages it works very well.
The website hosting company had a notice that the website was going to go offline soon, and notify the owner.
This is what happens when you don’t have corporate sponsors and it is a small group. The money runs out or the small group moves on to other projects.
Update: It seemed they paid their bills and the site can be reached here.

But the site is saved here also, so as long as the Internet Archive exists, it will exit.
This is the indepth story about Jim Chuchu. I had done a brief item last week.

The people who like to foment panic over social media are the one who want to censor social media.
This report shows that there isn’t any mental health issues with social media. A lot of these social problem panic groups are basically looking for cash flow. They almost always end up wanting to be censorious, and this always means they don’t approve of sex. Which means more censorship of Gay art online.
Caving into censorship.
I can see him rejecting a post because he thinks it will get him into trouble, but this is rejecting organizing to fight censorship because he thinks Facebook will engage in retribution for his group posting an item on how to fight censorship.
Notice that he rejected even the simple post with the red background.
This was the reason given.
Challenge Trials for Vaccines: This will be of benefit to Gays
This article points out that these trials accelerate the development of a vaccine.
But in challenge trials, healthy people agree to become infected with a pathogen so that scientists can gather preliminary data on possible drugs and vaccines before bigger trials take place. “Accelerating a Zika vaccine by a month, a few days, that does a lot of good in the world,” says Scholl, who studies at Pardee RAND Graduate School in Santa Monica, California.
By the way, Zika is thought to be sexually transmitted also. How soon might this become the next mpox in the Gay community, or not?
The other big advantage is that you can get good clear data on how well the vaccine works with a much smaller trial. You don’t have to give hundred of people vaccines and placebos and then wait for some of them get infected and then look at the relative infection rates of vaccinated and placebo. You need to have many people since you are going to rely on infections from natural causes and a large percentage of the unvaccinated aren’t going to get infected anyways.
So the cost of seeing if a vaccine is effective in a Phase 1 is much less. Getting funding will be easier.
The article discusses the use of challenge trials for Hepatitis C.

For gonorrhea, syphilis, and chlamydia, where it can be treated with antibiotics, challenge trials would be of use when vaccines are being developed for these diseases.
Yes, there are ethical concerns. The disease must be treatable and not too severe. There must be an advantage to the method, which will likely be the case for many diseases.
There are ethical concerns. However, the first concern listed in the following paragraph is bogus, while the second one is valid.
Some researchers also worry that 1Day Sooner’s laser-like focus on challenge trials could lead to missed opportunities to involve people in other types of medical study. [This 2nd concern is valid.] Others are concerned that some participants might not fully appreciate the health risks or might be overly incentivized by the high financial compensation that the group has proposed for some trials.
1Day Sooner is organized for challenge trials. Why is it that they are somehow responsible for every possible way people could volunteer for medical research? This is a false opposite. Someone doesn’t like the idea and is pulling stuff out of the air. If they want other types of volunteering to happen, I suggest they get going and organize their own effort for what they want to see happen.
Ozempic seems to reduce alcohol consumption as well as reduce weight.
I like wine and liquors. Also, how much you drink is your personal decision.
I bring this up since there is a campaign against Ozempic by some Fat Liberationists. For some who might need to cut back on alcohol consumption this could be useful.
What I am trying to point out is that some Fat Liberationists are willing to push their ideology regardless of health consequences. For some people with a drinking problem this could be a benefit as they cut down on alcohol and weight.
