A lot of money was raised for the vandal for his legal defense and supposedly vandalism is “freedom of express.”
A legal defense fundraiser for Brewer had gathered $28,265. The online campaign was hosted by GiveSendGo, and organizers described the case as involving constitutional concerns.
The fundraiser page said, “This fund not only supports Brewer’s legal defense but also champions the fundamental American values of freedom of expression and the right to a fair trial. [Boldface added.]
Anthony Sabatini, a Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives at the time who had also served in the Florida state House of Representatives, labeled Brewer a “political prisoner” on X and urged Florida’s governor to pardon what he termed a “fake crime.” [Boldface added.]

This article has a history of attacks on different rainbow crosswalks at different times. The Christian Post made sure to report those who supported the vandal.
While Brewer has been released from custody, one critic of LGBT ideology is portraying him as a “political prisoner” and has asked Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis to pardon him. “Gov. DeSantis must grant an immediate pardon for the fake crime of driving over an LGBTQ flag (which should have never been allowed to be placed there),” said Anthony Sabatini, the chairman of the Lake County, Florida, Republican Party in a post on X Tuesday.
Sabatini is a candidate for the United States House of Representatives. He is running in Florida’s 11th Congressional District, which is held by Republican Daniel Webster.

Many users on X urged Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to pardon Maier, with some suggesting his prosecution is ideologically motivated.

The Christian Post, not surprisingly uncritically reported U.S. Dept. of Sean Duffy’s policy of no rainbow cross walks.

Christians have been pushing a counter attack against the Gay use of the rainbow.
The rainbow crosswalks are a pubic and authorized rejection of these Evangelical Christians.

This article’s purpose becomes clear in that the Rainbow used by Gays, can be used, to be identified with Christianity’s promise to save Gays from sin.
The gospel is for all people, including those who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Jesus can meet them where they are and draw them into an everlasting fellowship with Himself. In Christ, all are brought into a loving family, washed and made new, and given the identity of sons and daughters, regardless of past sins (see 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
Rainbows are symbols that remind us of how mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13). May we extend that same sense of grace to others, including those we do not agree with, and lovingly point them to our Savior.
