You can bully Gays into accepting “Gay” transmen, but you can’t bully African Americans to accept Rachel Dolezal.
Who was Rachel Dolezal?
She is a woman who had successfully passed herself off as an African American and was the president of the local NAACP chapter in Spokane, Idaho.
She had been an instructor in African Studies at East Washington University.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rachel_Dolezal
Her page at East Washington University is no longer online, but is saved at the Internet archive. (Give the Internet Archive a minute, they have hundreds of billions of webpages and sometimes their servers are a bit busy.)
This is her profile on that page. Quite the revolutionary supposedly.
Rachel Doležal holds her Master's degree from Howard University and is a professor in the Africana Studies Program at Eastern Washington University. Doležal has taught African and African American Art History, African History, African American Culture, The Black Woman's Struggle, and Intro to Africana Studies at EWU. Her scholarly research focuses on the intersection of race, gender and class in the contemporary Diaspora with a specific emphasis on Black women in visual culture. Her passion for civil rights is influenced by her years in Mississippi, where she advocated for equal rights and participated in community development. She is the former Director of Education at the Human Rights Education Institute, a licensed Diversity Trainer and a Consultant for human rights education and inclusivity in regional schools. During her experience as the Director for the Human Rights Education Institute, Doležal developed programs and curriculum that expanded the annual audience from 3,000 per year to 23,000 per year. She created world-class exhibits, coordinated cultural events, scheduled keynote speakers, organized panel discussions and began the Young Advocates for Human Rights summer training program. Her efforts were met with opposition by North Idaho white supremacy groups, including the Ku Klux Klan, the Neo Nazis and the Aryan Nations, and at least eight documented hate crimes targeted Doležal and her children during her residency in North Idaho.
In addition to her role as an educator, Doležal has fourteen years of experience as an exhibiting artist and has taught K-12 & college art lessons in public, private, and non-traditional school settings. Her works have been featured in The Artist's Magazine, shown in 13 states and displayed at the United Nations' Headquarters in New York. Doležal began teaching private & group art lessons in 1994 and synthesizes art history, cultural studies, & the creative process when teaching. She believes that the creative process is part of what makes us human and unifies our self-identity with the world around us. Doležal was an instructor in the Art Departments at North Idaho College from 2005-2013 and has taught at Eastern Washington University since 2007.
Most recently, Rachel Doležal has been appointed by the Mayor of Spokane to serve as a police commissioner for the Office of the Police Ombudsman, to oversee fairness and equity in law enforcement. She writes weekly for The Inlander as a social commentator and recently contributed to an important chapter to a textbook, "The War on Poverty: A Retrospective," which was published this summer. Doležal also entertains an interest in the medical field and has begun pre-medical studies, working toward an MD and a residency in trauma surgery. She hopes to combine her medical knowledge with her passion for human rights and engage in life-saving surgery efforts around the world. Her other experiences include work in a community law office as a legal secretary, African dance, culinary arts, ethnic hair styling, modeling, managing a political campaign, and mothering two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, gardening & cooking.
Report by CNN when here identity comes crashing down.
There was a lot of reporting about this. Due to substack email limits, I will have to put links to those stories into this post after it is sent out. Basically they tell the same story though.
Caitlyn Jenner and Rachel Dolezal are major news at the same time.
Caitlyn Jenner came out as transgender April 2015. She had a renaming ceremony July 2015. There was a broadcast about her being transgender May 2015.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caitlyn_Jenner
She was on the cover of Vanity Fair July 2015 issue.
https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2015/06/caitlyn-jenner-bruce-cover-annie-leibovitz
Rachel Dolezal was exposed as white in the media by at least June 12, 2015.
Both Rachel Dolezal with her claimed transracial identity and Caitlyn Jenner with her transgender identity got a lot of media attention during the same time period.
People started to discuss transracialism thinking it was like transgenderism.
There was a real possibility that it might be considered the latest progressive thing.
In Buzzfeed, the official record of liberal/left/progressive opinion, a trans woman condemns Rachel Dolezal. There is the dangerb that the ideological spell might be broken and transgenderism going down. There was the imminent danger that maybe people might find the concept of “girldick” ridiculous.
Buzzfeed, June 17, 2015, “Rachel Dolezal Is Abusing The Language Of Trans Activists.”
https://www.buzzfeed.com/1demerith/rachel-dolezal-and-transgender-narratives
The citadel of trans ideology, The Advocate, raged against Rachel Dolezal. Though the article most just rages with condemnations rather than arguments.
June 13, 2015, “Op-ed: Rachel Dolezal, Caitlyn Jenner, and the Idea of Transracial.”
Rachael Dolezal made the comparison to Caitlyn Jenner
Perhaps she thought she could latch onto transgender ideology to make her transracialism seem legitimate. It wasn’t to be.
Rachel Dolezal used the vocabulary of trans activists.
CNN, June 17, 2015, “Ex-NAACP leader Rachel Dolezal: ‘I identify as black’.”
Felt constrained by ‘biological identity thrust upon me’
One commentator sees a contradiction in the differnt reactions to Dolezal and Jenner.
Some referenced this vitriol in the context of Caitlyn Jenner, whose transition from Olympic champ Bruce Jenner to a woman was widely applauded.
“So #CaitlynJenner is brave, but the Internet wants to burn #RachelDolezal at the stake,” one man wrote. “Are we bound by our bodies or not? #MakeUpYourMind!”

African Americans not tolerating white people thinking they were African
African Americans just weren’t going to tolerate white people thinking they were African.
African Americans are a key voting block for the Democrats and furthermore they are a key voting block for whoever the Democratic establishment wants to be the next presidential candidate.
The LGBTQXYZ+ Democrats would obviously recognize that transracialism could pulldown transgenderism as a project and new cash flow for “gender affirming care.”
Black Enterprise, June 23, 2015, “Rachel Dolezal and Caitlyn Jenner: Transracial vs. Transgender.”
However, in Dolezal’s case, her valuing of African American culture has now become an example of contemporary blackface and racism in America.

This African American on Democracy Now! just wasn’t having it.
Hilarious take down of Rachel Dolezal.
BlackPressUSA, June 16, 2015, “Why Comparing Rachel Dolezal To Caitlyn Jenner is Detrimental to Both Trans and Racial Progress.”
Comedy Central tore into Rachel Dolezal.
When Rachel Dolezal’s book, In Full Color, came out, it was really trashed by African Americans.

Rachel Dolezal was still making comparisons to Caitlyn Jenner. She was calling race a social construct as academics do, and gender is called a social construct.

African Americans weren’t tolerating trans-Black as Dolezal called herself.
The Root, April 28, 2017, “I Tried to Read Nbecki’s, I Mean Rachel Dolezal’s, In Full Color so You Didn’t Have to, and I Failed.”
The African American author found it so repugnant he couldn’t read it.

Bossip savagely reviews Dolezal’s book.
Other condemnations

Later when the Netflix biography came out about her there were more denunciations.
The New Yorker, April 16, 2018, ““The Rachel Divide” Review: A Disturbing Portrait of Dolezal’s Racial Fraudulence.”
There were endless articles denouncing the idea of transracialism
It was urgent that transracialism did NOT become the latest advanced opinion of those cosplaying social justice activists. There was the danger that transracialism was likely to be the next thing to demonstrate that you had an advanced opinion.
Transracialism was likely to bring down transgenderism, the darling project of the LGBTQXYZ+ establishment, and its future cash flow.
The media of accepted opinion urgently wrote that this stuff and nonsense is actually stuff and nonsense, and that stuff and nonsense is really stuff and nonsense, and whatever you do, stop comparing them.
For The Guardian it became a repeating topic of condemnation. .
April 23, 2018, “The Rachel Divide review – Netflix's Dolezal documentary is a troubling watch.

The Guardian articles. Rachel Dolezal is condemned severely.
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/mar/27/rachel-dolezal-race-white
Conservative media was quick to pick up on the fact that rationalizations were being constructed to make one real and one bad.
National Review, June 15, 2015, “Rachel Dolezal Is Blacker Than Bruce Jenner Is Female.”
https://www.nationalreview.com/2015/06/rachel-dolezal-blacker-bruce-jenner-female-david-french/
https://nypost.com/2017/04/02/rachel-dolezal-actually-thinks-shes-similar-to-caitlyn-jenner/
Transracialism and Transgendersim could be equally valid or invalid depending on the needs of interest groups.
The arguments for either have real problems and the arguments discussing why transracialism was invalid and transgender was valid were just aggregates of rationalizations.
These rationalizations were accepted to meet ideological and political needs.
Transracialim is not accepted by African Americans because they can’t be bullied into accepting it.
Transgenderism is accepted since Lesbians and Gays can be bullied into accepting it.
