Bypassing the upcoming Christian firewall of the Internet. They might arrest you if the Supreme Court overturns Lawrence v. Texas.
It is already starting to happen. As states use unworkable age verification laws to shutdown online access, and the Christians are clearly seeking control over the Internet.
Subscriptions are free.
Background
In the state of Texas one porn site after another is being shut down in Texas as Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sues them.
They have designed rules that are unworkable so they can use the pretext of protecting children to shutdown pornography.
You might say, I don’t visit these porn sites. You should understand that Ken Paxton doesn’t seem to be a rational actor. He is a Christian ideologue who is a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist church. (I have a link to a post about that church). The Christian rightwing goal is to shut down the Gay movement and control the Internet.
Other states are doing this also.
Ken Paxton has stated publically that he will prosecute homosexual acts if Lawrence v. Texas is overturned.
This is the Lawrence vs. Texas ruling by the Supreme Court which ruled that the laws making homosexual sex illegal were invalid.

Using Grindr in Texas might become as dangerous as in Qatar.

These important things to consider.
Grindr might be shutdown in Texas. You might find all the Facebook Gay art groups shutdown.
You also might find yourself cut off from your contacts and sources.
You might find your website or social media accounts shutdown.
You might find access to Gay art cut off.
You might find your online activity monitored to arrest you.
It isn’t just rightwing Christians who might decide to obliterate something. Tumblr sex content was wiped out by Verizon corporate. With Reddit having an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of stock, they expect a lot of Reddit groups to get shut down so they can get advertisers and report profits to stockholders.
There are feminist groups wanting to shutdown porn and stuff online and usually these things result in Gays getting shutdown. The person running this group used to run a Woman Studies’ group.

So there is the Christians campaiging against Gays and sex, there are the corporations not liking sex, feminists campaigning against sex, and there is just the general instability of the Internet.
Vine is shutdown. Tumblr is gone. Google+ is gone. Periscope is gone.
So this post is to give you options to deal with these situations. We do not advocate the violating of any laws. We aren’t lawyers either so in no way should anything be construed or understood as legal advice. This is technical information.
VPN - Get one.
With a VPN you send encrypted info to a server somewhere, and then it sends it to the site you are interested in. You should have one anyways so that when you travel, you can use the Internet without hackers getting passwords.
I recommend this VPN in case your state starts restricting the Internet.
Some of the others don’t have that good a distribution of servers globally. When I was in Taiwan, Nordvpn has servers in Taiwan, but Kapersky didn’t.
You will want to chose a server outside the area where there is a problem.
Have multiple online presences and multiple connections.
Make sure you have an Instagram, Facebook, Reddit, and X (formerly Twitter) accounts. Maybe more.
Make sure you connect on these multiple social media platforms. Join groups, follow or be friends or something with groups and people you want to be in contact in multiple ways. Book mark their websites if any.
It is okay, if you have an Instagram, Facebook, or X that is empty except with a notice that this is a backup contact.
The basic thing is that if you lose contact in one platform or their website is shutdown, you have another contact point where you can keep in touch and find out what they are doing.
If your favorite artists is shutdown on Facebook, you are still in contact on X (formerly Twitter). Or you are both members of the same Reddit group and you can read where he has moved to. If you have one contact point and it is terminated, you simply are disconnected.
You might want to have an address book again. Who knows what the future might bring.
Be a member of multiple apps.
If Grindr is shutdown, perhaps you are still connected to the person on Scruff or Blued or Adam4Adam or another app.
Chances are if one app is being shutdown, the others will be shutdown, but at least you will have time to devise some plan of action before you are cut off entirely.
You might want to joint an overseas app so that you can stay connected.
Discord
I don’t know much about them, but I notice more and more to excape censorship groups and individuals are moving there. Of course it might just go dark for the State of Texas. Just wanted to mention them.
Create a contact Facebook group or page.
This would be a group or page where nothing is posted. It exists just as a contact point.
Don’t move there.
Or if you have to, as part of your career, have a plan to leave and a timeline when you will leave.
If a state is becoming a Christian theocracy, one way to not have a problem is not move there. Don’t put yourself behind the Christian firewall.
What you also need to consider is whether your current career will take you there. If you are in a situation where you can change careers, maybe moving out of the oil industry might be something to consider. When choosing your major maybe you shouldn’t choose petroleum engineering.
Leave, at least have a backup plan.
If you decided to leave, do you know where you would go, and how you would find a job there.
This isn’t just a concern over the Christian firewall. Ken Paxton has sued Pfizer over Covid vaccines. If the Moderna mRNA vaccine becomes available, you might have to leave the state to get it.
So just start giving it a little thought.
Final note.
This post is just a quick post for a developing situation. If you have additonal ideas, let me know.
Maybe we need to get serious and start fighting back.
No more babbling sugary syrups of sentimentalities.
