Resource for weaponizing BL against homophobes.

When I wrote up how the global BL phenomenon might be harnessed to fight homophobia in the United States and other places, I also realized that some resources will be needed to support the effort.

Also, I realized that I needed to have some type of tracking for the BL or two of the week to put out into your social media. I don’t want to make the same suggestion twice accidentally in the same month or within a few months.

Further, for new members who have gotten interest, they would have access to the BLs which I suggested prior to their joining. It would be a resource for BL fans so they could help out also.

I know that likely some people find this eccentric, but we need to try new things and be innovative in finding ways of fighting homophobia.

With little effort, we could have serious impact.

Gelboys. Gay movie for the BL project

We can use cultural resources to fight homophobia. There is a growing BL fanbase in America and they are going to be biased against homophobia.

Not all politics is electoral.

Interesting series about young people focused on social media and being cool. It is interesting view of youth culture in Thailand and Gay life. I think that Gays would find the central theme very interesting.

Also, it is somewhat refreshing that no one is discussing the Bible or religious homophobia and it takes place in a world without homophobia.

It is a Gay movie, not a BL movie, but it will get a huge BL fandom. East Asian Gay movies get world promotion through the BL fandom.

Really sugary. I am not recommending it to watch, but to share on social media to promote the genera in the United Sates.

This is a reoccurring theme in BL and in East Asian dramas generally. A person discovers that they have an identity of which they were unaware. They are actually something else, in which they are important.

I am not recommending you watch it, but I am asking to share it on social media.

It is very much a male-male romance with sex but as imagined by fujoshis. However, it is a world without homophobia.

What is interesting is that the architecture in this series is entirely European even though this imaginary kingdom speaks a language very similar to Thai and is near Thailand. To East and Southeast Asians, European architecture is the exotic architecture and therefore interesting.

Three Bad BLs to suggest on your social media.

These represent three story lines that are popular with fujoshi. I am not recommending them as cultural products, but something that has time and time has proven popular with its intended audience, which is straight women.

My Golden Blood. Yes, a vampire BL.

Eternal Butler. A robot boyfriend. This is popular.

Boy Next World. Not actually an alternate universe.

BL added to list to promote. Not necessarily watch.

I haven’t been bringing up BLs lately, because if they are really junky and I can’t bear to finish watching, I think perhaps they shouldn’t go on the list. A lot of them are given bad reviews by the BL fandom, and so promoting them to support BL isn’t a good idea.

Remember, we aren’t supporting BL based on its merits, we are supporting it to knock down homophobia which it seems to be able to do.

A bonkers Japanese BL. Remember, straight women write this for straight women. So feeling safe since it is projected onto two men, the one character can be very aggressive with the other.

The genera has come to America faster than I thought. As I have said before, you may not be interested in it, but this sub-culture could be an important counter to homophobic Christianity.

In South Korea, people still see shamans, a Korean tradition going back thousands of years.

By the late 19th century, many Korean intellectuals eager for modernisation came to regard musok as superstition that should be eradicated;^[410] they increasingly referred to it with the term misin ("superstition").^[411] These ideas were endorsed in Tongnip sinmun, Korea's first vernacular newspaper.^[412] Many of these intellectuals were Christian, thus regarding the mudang's spirits as evil demons.^[413] In 1896, police launched a crackdown by arresting mudang, destroying shrines, and burning paraphernalia.^[414]
In North Korea, most formal religious activity was suppressed,^[427] with mudang labelled part of the "hostile class".^[428] In South Korea, Christianity spread rapidly from the 1960s, becoming the country's dominant religion by the 21st century.^[429] South Korean leader Syngman Rhee launched the Sin Saenghwal Undong ("New Life Movement") which destroyed many village shrines.^[430] This policy continued as the Saemaul Undong ("New Community Movement") of his successor, Park Chung Hee, which led to a surge in the police suppression of mudang during the 1970s.^[431] In response, mudang formed the Tae Han Sŭngkong yŏngsin yŏnhap-hoe (Korean Victory Over Communism Federation of Shamans) to promote their interests, its name reflecting the pervasive anti-communist atmosphere of South Korean society.^[432] Such outright persecution ended after Park's assassination in 1979.^[430]

Cambodian BL

Don’t watch this serious. It is just patched together cliches from Thai BLs which is fairly cliche.

These are really low budget productions. I don’t think the scripts are adaptations of any manga, but instead are just written up in imitations of Thai BLs. Seeing the global success of Thailand BL industry, Myanmar (Burma), Vietnam, and Cambodia are all looking at doing some type of BL production. A lot of times the translations are very iffy.

However, as much as we might laugh at it, a BL fanbase is very seriously against homophobia. So this is a welcome development to block homophobia in Cambodia.

Some Cambodian-Americans might find it of interest and realize that the home nation is not homophobic.

Actually these are Gay films. BL fans don’t understand there is a difference. They do watch Gay films thinking they are BL so they are learning about Gay life.

This is a really classic BL. The guy in front turns Gay for the young man standing up. Girl friend is jealous and becomes evil. Straight women write this for straight women.
