Update:
He has been impeached. Initially his political party was unwilling to vote with the opposition party to impeach him since they wanted him to resign. However, President Yoon became defiant over his exercise of martial law and refused to resign. So President Yoon’s political party, the People Power Party voted for his impeachment. The case goes to the Korean Constitutional Court. Until then Yoon is suspended from political power.

The homophobia of the People Power Party
Hankyoreh, June 19, 2023, “First Seoul, now Daegu - why Pride events in Korea are being challenged by local governments.”
Blocking of the 2023 Pride events. That is why I went to Thailand.
LGBTQ Pride events are being challenged across South Korea, with mayors in major metropolitan cities taking it upon themselves to reinforce prejudices against and exclusion of sexual and gender minorities of late.
Earlier this month, the Seoul metropolitan government denied the Seoul Queer Cultural Festival use of Seoul Plaza, its usual venue, and the Incheon city government sparked controversy by demanding that the Incheon Women’s Film Festival remove queer films from its screening program.
On Saturday, Daegu city officials clashed with police, with municipal workers attempting to prevent Daegu Queer Cultural Festival organizers from setting up at their venue in the city’s Jung District, and police attempting to prevent this obstruction.
All three cities’ mayors have at least one thing in common: they are all members of the ruling People Power Party (PPP). [Boldface added.]
This is what Christianity is likely to be in our future as the historical restraints against Christian nationalism continue to weaken in the United States.
It is no secret that their behavior is strictly vote-conscious. The most vocal opponents of recognizing the political and social rights of LGBTQ people in South Korea are conservative Protestant denominations and their mega-churches.
Whenever a major election is around the corner, they rally their massive numbers and demand that “anti-homosexuality” make an appearance on candidates’ platforms.

The Korea Times, June 1, 2024, “150,000 celebrate Pride Parade despite backlash.”
Some 150,000 people, including thousands of LGBTQ Koreans and their supporters gathered in central Seoul for annual Pride celebrations Saturday, despite the event's traditional venue being put off limits by the authorities for the second consecutive year.
Seoul's conservative mayor, Oh Se-hoon, has said he "personally can't agree with homosexuality," but municipal authorities blamed a scheduling conflict and said the venue had already been reserved for an outdoor event themed around books.
It instead took place in the streets in central Seoul, with companies and organisations including the US embassy, IKEA and Amnesty International participating to show support.
Areas surrounding Seoul's major thoroughfares Namdaemun-ro and Ujeongguk-ro were packed with excited participants wearing rainbow-themed costumes and make-up, some blowing bubbles and many waving orange balloons -- the theme colour for this year's edition.
LGBTQ festivals have often been targeted by evangelical Christian groups, who have thrown water bottles and verbally abused Pride marchers and tried to block their route by lying down in the street in the past.

The story of what happened in Incheon, South Korea, should warn Americans how brutal and violent these protests can be.

As reported in the above article.
According to the police, some 1,000 anti-gay protesters physically blocked some 300 LGBT individuals at the Dongincheon Station North Plaza in Incheon, about 50 kilometers west of Seoul, making them stuck at the corner of the outdoor public property.
Witnesses said those who were stuck could not eat nor go to the bathroom for at least five hours throughout the day. Some participants in the event reported being physically assaulted by the protesters.
And:
A total of three trucks, which carried items to be used during the event, such as musical instruments and costumes, also could not enter the plaza as the protesters blocked their way. The members of the anti-gay rally also deliberately punctured the tires of the vehicles, according to the event organizers. [Boldface added.]
There was considerable criticism that the police didn’t do their job and were complicit with what happened to the LGBT event.
As reported in the following article, next year in 2019 it went much better.

The big difference is that embassies got involved. From the following article you can see seven embassies showed up the next year. Having embassies present pressured the police, the Incheon government and the South Korean government to make sure the Incheon Pride vent was safe. From the article.
Further promoting the peaceful and safer celebration of individual rights and expression were international embassies committed to protecting the rights of minorities, respecting diversity and loosening the chains of discrimination.
The Irish embassy distributed badges and leaflets with the slogan "Gra (Love) is the Law" and were joined by the Australian Embassy, the New Zealand Embassy and the German Embassy. The British Embassy was also once more in attendance promoting the motto "Love is Great" and its staff fetchingly decked out in pink T-shirts and rainbow ties.
The Nordic countries of Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland also combined to create a booth that explained the development of human rights in their countries. Amnesty International also provided support.
Some videos and another article follow which can tell you how violent organized anti-LGBT Christianity can be, what the future could be here.
Appendix:
This is an article by Raphael Rashid about both the violence in 2018 and what happened in 2019 when the event was repeated.
From the article:
Outraged, Incheon Pride organisers put out a statement: “Countless people saw the violence and hate, suffering physical and mental damage. The fact that police failed to identify a single perpetrator, even though photos and videos were submitted clearly designating [the perpetrators] proves their incompetence and irresponsibility again.”

Summary
Though not all Christians are necessarily homophobic, globally Christianity is the number one problem Gays face, and the behavior of Korean Christians is what the Gay community will face when Christianity in the West is no longer restrained by the precepts of modern liberal democracy of the 19th and 20th century.
