Johanna Olson-Kennedy suppresses her own research showing Puberty Blockers don't improve mental health.
We now see more and more that it isn't science, it is ideology, and when the science doesn't support the ideology it is suppressed.

The New York Times published an expose that a study on puberty blockers is unpublished because of politics.
This article is behind a paywall, but other media have reported on the article and I will provide those links.

J.K. Rowling had a hilarious take on the thinking behind the suppression of the study, she said on X the following:
We must not publish a study that says we're harming children because people who say we're harming children will use the study as evidence that we're harming children, which might make it difficult for us to continue harming children.
Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy won’t publish her own research.
Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy won’t publish her own research because it undermines gender ideology. This is from the New York Post, and the link is one of the links below.
A prominent doctor and trans rights advocate admitted she deliberately withheld publication of a $10 million taxpayer-funded study on the effect of puberty blockers on American children — after finding no evidence that they improve patients’ mental health.
Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy told the New York Times that she believes the study would be “weaponized” by critics of transgender care for kids, and that the research could one day be used in court to argue “we shouldn’t use blockers.”
Critics – including one of Olson-Kennedy’s fellow researchers on the study — said the decision flies in the face of research standards and deprives the public of “really important” science in a field where Americans remain firmly divided.
CNN is criticizing the delay in the release of the data and some of the excuses. The mainstream media is slowly backing away from trans ideology.
Olson-Kennedy said that in the study, which she helped lead, puberty blockers did not appear to improve the mental health of 95 children ages 8 to 16 who were followed for two years to understand their mental and physical functioning as doctors used the medications to delay the physical changes associated with puberty, including things like body hair growth, menstruation and a deepening voice.
“They’re in really good shape when they come in, and they’re in really good shape after two years,” Olson-Kennedy told the Times.
Her description appears to contradict the baseline characteristics of the 95 study participants, which were published in 2022. That paper reports that more than 1 in 4 had clinically significant levels of depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts. About 8% had reported a previous suicide attempt. [Boldface added.]
Also, from the article.
“I feel it’s imperative for research, especially research funded by taxpayer money, to be published for the integrity of science,” said Tishelman, who helped write the initial grant for the project, which is called “The Impact of Early Medical Treatment on Transgender Youth.” “We need to be forthright about our findings.”
And:
This year, however, an extensive but controversial research review in the UK called that practice into question, saying that the rationale for early puberty suppression was “unclear” and that any benefit for mental health was supported by “weak evidence.” The review – known as the Cass Review for Dr. Hilary Cass, the pediatrician who conducted it – and its methodology have come under sharp criticism from some scholars and practitioners.
It has prompted providers in the UK to scale back their use of the treatment.
I have reported on the Cass Report earlier. Link provided towards toward the end of this post.

This really is unethical. This isn’t the first time that questionable practices have been uncovered regarding so-called trans research. The Economist has also reported on unethical practices.
Also, the Cass Report also has identified the questionable methods in so-called gender medicine research.
Not behind paywall, conservative sources.
The National Review here has an article titled, “Trust the Gender Science That We Won’t Publish.”

Our LGBTQXYZ media seems to have decided this wasn’t news. I couldn’t find this news story mentioned even in them.us. Trans activist Erin Reed did run a rebuttal.
News Blackout of the LGBTQXYZ media.
I couldn’t find any articles in the LGBTQXYZ media.
The LGBTQXYZ has had a lot of denunciation of Democrats backing off from trans ideology, but this report in the New York Times is being ignored.
Trans activist, in the substack newsletter, “Erin in The Morning,” had a post.
Summary
One scandal after another is being reported. The Establishment media is stepping away.
The dominance of trans ideologues is crumbling. The Establishment media and the Democrats are starting to distance themselves from the trans ideologues.
We need to hold accountable organizations which colluded with this craziness.
