Lil Nas X castigates BET
Lil Nas X calls out the homophobia in the African American community.
Lil Nas X didn’t get any nominations for BET awards for 2021 despite his overwhelming success as a singer and entertainer.
Lil Nas X issues severe criticisms of BET. He didn’t hold back. Some of his postings on YouTube and Twitter have been deleted. So these are the online items as of 10:14 pm CST, 6/12/2022. He calls himself on Twitter “obamas cousin.”
Queen Latifah defended Lil Nas X.

Numerous publications covered it.

This was the link to Lil Nas X’s video on YouTube, but you can see the account has been deleted.
However, a copy of the video appeared here on YouTube.
The issue is the homophobia in the African American community as Lil Nas X stated in a tweet.
News media covered this tweet, these are just two of the many media sites that covered it.

It doesn’t appear that anyone is buying BET’s excuses, excepting those who are homophobic. Lil Nas X himself just called them “just buzz words placed together,” and it seems most people agree.
As an African American who is Gay and a media superstar, Lil Nas X is uniquely qualified to call out homophobia in the African American community and is not afraid to do so.
This controversy is going to be really good to open up discussion and will benefit African American Gays.
The song “Montero” has been translated into 22 language subtitles on the YouTube platform alone when I last checked. This is a playlist I made of the translations.
