Sara Symington Bringing Down the Walls of Trans Hegemony -- UPDATE 1 UPDATE 2
Not all woman athletes can be bullied and this is setting a precident.
UPDATE 1: https://unherd.com/2022/04/the-week-the-trans-spell-was-broken
The above was published the day after I wrote the following.
UPDATE 2: The Washington Post has broken ranks with the trans agenda. The Washington Post if the press agency of the neoliberal Democrats. The trans agenda is about to crumble.
ORIGINAL ESSAY BELOW
It looks like the hegemony maintained by trans bullying is falling apart. I think that this recent development is really important and is relevant to the situation of Gays globally (Lesbians also). Also, I want to show that though it is a victory in many ways, it perhaps isn’t quite the victory that people might think it is.
Some background information.
A Emily Bridges, a transwomen, was going to be competing in a woman’s cycling event. However, women threaten to boycott and 76, count them, seventy-six women co-signed a letter against men competing in women’s events as transwomen. The governing bodies found a technicality to prevent Emily Bridges from competing in a women’s cycling event. It was such a technicality, sort of contrived, that it is fairly obvious that the governing bodies gave in to the threats of boycott by women and a possible very visible revolt.
Some articles.
This article omitted that some women athletes had spoken out. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2022/mar/30/trans-cyclist-emily-bridges-banned-from-racing-at-british-meeting-after-uci-ruling
This article portrays Emily Bridges as the victim, but does mention that four women athletes spoke out and there was a threaten boycott. https://www.cnn.com/2022/04/05/sport/emily-bridges-uci-decision-spt-intl/index.html
HOWEVER, this tweet shows that Sara Symington, head of the British Olymipic Cyclist team had a petition with 76, count them, seventy-six, co-signers against allowing Emily Bridges compete in a woman’s event. This is in the upcoming newsletter from 4/11/2022.
The UCI is some international body related to cycling.
I wasn’t able to find this in the neoliberal press, but I was only tipped off by this when I saw a tweet with a Daily Mail article. This one.
I don’t trust the Daily Mail as a reliable news source so I tracked down the actual notice of the petition in the above tweet. It is note worthy that I had to read a Daily Mail article to learn of even the existence of this letter.
That the UCI decision was fairly contrived is made clear in this article.
How much this isn’t a victory.
In many ways this is a HUGE VICTORY, but I think we need to understand how much this is not a victory also before discussing the victory.
The UCI just kicked the can down the road to buy time. That is they made this decision to post pone confronting the issue until a later date. I speculate that they weren’t prepared for resistance and when it appeared they just pulled a reason out of the air to deny Emily Bridges participation in the race, but also not take a stand on transwomen in woman’s cycling.
The British cycling governing body and the UCI have in no way made any decision about transwomen in women’s cycling.
It could be that they want to apply pressure on the woman cyclists to accede to transwomen cyclists. It might be they are contriving some regulation or rules so that technically transwomen can compete in women’s cycling, but in actual practice it will be nearly impossible to do so. Or it could be they don’t know what to do and are just stalling for time.
Now the victory stuff.
The possibility of an open revolt of unintimidated women athletes who has successfully gotten their governing bodies to back down, if only for the present, has empowered voices to speak up.
This is the article in the “radical” Guardian. There are other opinions than the trans lobby. Who would have known?https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2022/apr/03/disputes-over-trans-athletes-must-not-make-everyone-a-looser
Or this London Times article. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/women-will-never-accept-sports-being-rigged-vnxs9pnvl
The issue of intimidation by Trans is also openly discussed in the news. https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/female-cyclists-scared-to-speak-out-on-emily-bridges-controversy-5q5bgbzp3
Material situation of woman cyclists versus women swimmers
With Lia Thomas, woman swimmers couldn't speak out because they might lose their scholarships and then university administrators would kick them out of school with some type of vague statement that they aren't "consistent with our values" or some university president type linguistic schlock.
However, the situation for women cyclists is very different. There is no scholarship to lose, there is no university president and diversity officer to lecture and punish them.
And it isn’t just that one woman cyclist is independent, there is a whole body of women cyclists who are independent in their own support and means and can mutually support each other and represent a formidable opposition.
Also, once these women revolt from the trans hegemony and don’t suffer consequences, other women cyclists will join in. With the example of women athlete solidarity beating back trans ideology, it will show other women athletes that they can win if they have solidarity and speak out. Sara Symington has shown that the trans forces are not as powerful as they might seem.
As for women who have been victimized by the transwoman athlete nonsense, they will have to consider the issue that they don’t have the solidarity and courage to speak out. NOW LET ME MAKE SOMETHING CLEAR. The women in swimming are in a very difficult situation. I don’t want them to be blamed or demeaned or negatively considered. It is just that in the end, often times standing up for justice is done when it is a very difficult situation. However, I think if women swimmers en mass refused to compete the university presidents and other craven administrators would back down.
AGAIN, I am not in these women swimmers’ situation and so I emphasize it is just my speculation on their situation.
I think though in other women’s sports where they are somewhat independent and have no university presidents to deal with, I expect that there will be resistance.
The material condition of women athletes in different sports I think will be the critical factor where the revolt starts earlier rather than later.
Solidarity will be a critical factor also. They can bully one or two people, when it gets to be 30 or 40 or 50 or more woman athletes the ability to focus on one person is not there and also it becomes an issue where the sport can be seriously damaged by the absence of a large segment of its athletes. Athletes who do continue to participate become collaborators in the trans regime, a negative identity also, and one they may not want to have.
Woman cyclists as a vanguard
When you engage in bullying and intimidation as a tactic, it may initially seem successful. However, you haven’t won an argument or convinced people, you merely have intimidated them.
People really resent intimidation. Also trans extremists have really said a lot of really vicious stuff about Lesbians and Gays and feminists. There must be a lot of people, once they feel comfortable doing so, wanting to speak out against these trans extremists and won’t be interested in apologies or even want revenge.
I think also, the neoliberals and other establishment political interests have realized that this issue of transwomen competing in women’s sports is going to demolish their political prospects. Their situation is becoming increasingly desperate as transwomen demolishing women’s sports becomes increasingly visible. They are looking for a reason to wiggle out of this LGBTQXYZ hegemony. The women cyclists might be just the means for them do so.
When a dam breaks down it starts with small cracks, and then the dam collapses. Trans hegemony I think is going to be the same.
Impact on other resistors like J.K. Rowling
When there are just one or two people speaking out it is easy for a pile on. However as more and more prominent individuals speak out, it becomes infeasible to pile on any one resistor as much as was done before. And as the tactic becomes less and less effective, there will be less enthusiasm for it by trans extremists.
What is in this for Gay men?
This is the important question for this substack. The bullying of Gays by transmen who think they are Gay is empowered by the trans hegemony. When the trans hegemony crumbles the “Gay” transmen trying to bully Gays will find it that they are less empowered to do so.
When many are speaking out against these trans excesses more Gays will speak out against them also, making it very difficult to pile on to one Gay resistor.
With the neoliberals realizing that the hegemony is over and not wanting to lose upcoming elections, they will dictate to the Stonewall neoliberal Democrats and the rest of the Alphabet Soup (LGBTQXYZ) media to not be supporting these trans excesses and they will obey.
I think that many in the Alphabet Soup media will consider how they got into this mess in the first place. The Alphabet Soup media along with the neoliberal Gays will be discredited with the Gay public.
Gays will be able to point out that the “Gay” transman demands for sex are like the transwomen demands to compete in women’s sports and also part of the general excesses of the trans movement.
Gays can and must demand as supporters of feminism that all the LGBTQXYZ leadership that supported Lia Thomas and other trans craziness resign or be eliminated from all places of leadership in the so-called “queer” community. Periodicals and organizations that collaborated need to be pointed out and if possible shut down.
Also, I think that there will be an opening for a Gay centric movement, maybe, as initialism discredits itself.
SPECIAL THANKS.
Thanks to Sara Symington and other women cyclists for leading the revolution.
