Thai Gay Buddhists realizing the menace of Christian missionaries. We can support their efforts at warning Thai Gays.
I am supplying them with links to English language Thai missionary writings. Something we can do to help out Gays in East, South, and Southeast Asia.
Subscriptions are free.
With our English Language skills we can help the LGBT in Asia defend themselves.
A Thai Gay Buddhist contacted me just after I returned from Thailand offering help in my field trip activities there. I had shared in Queer Bangkok some posts of my field work.
Recently he has been doing posts in Thai about the menace of Christian missionaries having an anti-Gay agenda. I posted as comments in his post links to the English language homophobic content of missionaries in Thailand. He can read English. You can see in the English language missonary posts how they are trying to bring homophobia to Thailand. He liked or hearted my comments.
He has done another post and they are commenting in Thai about another anti-LGBT Christian group. I am using Facebook translate so I am not necessarily getting an accurate picture.
My friend in Thailand is discovering homophobic content when it appears online in the Thai language. We can help out by finding the homophobic Thai missionary content when it appears in the English language and share those links back to Thai LGBT.
So I am going to this post with a set of links to homophobic webpages of Christian missionaries in Thailand. It can be a resource for the Thai LGBT there fighting Christian homophobia.
This same activity could be done in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and elsewhere. Collect the information about missionaries and their anti-LGBT agenda. Share it with your friends in that nation. Post it on Facebook. SEND IT TO ME.
The English language webpages are more open about their agenda and somethings much more condescending towards the Thai.
In South Korea that is a problem of Christians attacking violently LGBT events and many arson attempts on Buddhist temples. I think that it is much easier to defend against this when the public and the LGBT is alerted.

If there is one that should be added, let me know.

This is titled, “Interview With a Christian Missionary in Thailand.” You can see they are actively destructive of Thai LGBT Life.
With Thailand being well known for LGBT issues, how does this impact the Christian church in Thailand?
Thailand may be well known for LGBT issues but the way that this impacts Christian churches here is different than the West because questions of sexual orientation, same-sex marriage and gender fluidity have not yet erupted into polarizing and divisive public debates like they have in many Western countries. On the one hand, so-called ladyboys and toms are a common part of Thai society and are not seen as out of the ordinary, but on the other hand making fun of them is still generally accepted in Thai society, such as we see in Thai comedy shows which often have a cross-dressing type character who is the butt of jokes. At the risk of over-generalizing, we might say that LGBT people in Thailand are often accepted but not always respected.
As far as churches go, Thai Christians and missionaries welcome all types of people of any sexual preference or identity to church activities and there quite a few gay and lesbian Thai who come to churches and know Christians. Christians believe that all people are made in God’s image and worthy of respect. However, most Christians in Thailand believe what Christians have been teaching for 2000 years, namely that any sort of sexual expression or activity outside of the marriage of a man and a woman is sin. So if a Thai person wants to become a Christian but is in a sexual relationship with someone who is not their spouse, whether it is someone of the same gender or the opposite gender, then that is something that needs to be addressed. Those are difficult conversations to have, and unfortunately Christians have sometimes said unnecessarily hurtful things. That needs to be acknowledged. At the same time, there are Thai gays and lesbians who feel welcomed by the church even while realizing that they have a decision to make about their sexuality if they want to be a follower of Jesus. I can think of a couple of different Thai men who made the decision to leave behind their gay lifestyle because they discovered the grace of God and wanted to live in obedience to Christ. At the same time, I know of a Thai lesbian who was very interested in Jesus and enjoyed being part of a church community but felt like turning her back on her identity as a lesbian was a bridge too far to cross. So she decided that she could not become a Christian because of that.

This website targets Thai Ladyboys. Christians try to avoid direct hostil language. Note the phrase “brokeness of their world.”
Nearly all our local connections in Bangkok fell apart at the last minute, and we were forced to dive into the deep end, navigating our way by the Spirit! Through conversations, laughter and prayer, our aim was to count conversations more than conversions. Departing from any notion of non-personal proselytizing, we simply entered the brokenness of their world, listened and connected. While the church has failed miserably at reaching the homosexual community, we felt the way forward was to drop any agendas and simply allow love to overcome any obstacle to the truth of the gospel. [Boldface.]
With all our trips, we often come back home with more than we gave away. There is a massive blessing on pilgrimage, and everyone experienced such an indescribable impartation of love and insight into the gospel along the way. In all honesty, ministering to transvestites in some of the seediest areas of the world would not be “comfortable” for most people. But the joy of the journey and the amazing revelation of seeing Christ in those dark places was well worth the adventure. [Boldface.]

“Thailand’s Catholic Church against proposed civil partnership law,” is the title of this article.
A Catholic priest, who asked not to be named for lack of authority from his bishop, said marriage is between a man and a woman “and therefore blessings cannot be extended to same-sex couples.”
The Thai priest told LiCAS.news that even as Pope Francis said that “homosexual people have a right to be in a family,” the pontiff did not indicate that he is supporting same-sex “marriage.”

There are some disturbing Christian groups working in Thailand.
This article in Wikipedia, “Christianity in Thailand,” mentions multiple groups that raise concerns.

In the following article you can see that homophobic denominations are working in Thailand though it might not be immediately apparent to those not familiar with Christian homophobic groups in the United States.

If there is an interest in Thailand, we would glad to help track down more homophobic Christian individuals and groups in Thailand reseaching in English language sources and using our knowledge of homophobic Christianity in the Anglophone world.
One thing for researchers to note is that the New Homophobia, talks in the language of love in opposing homosexuality. They also like to term homosexuals as persons with same-sex attractions, to avoid any type of conceptualization of Gay identity. The person isn’t homosexual, it is just some type of attraction like having a favorite flavor of ice cream or type of pie.
There homophobia is often indirect, they talk about what is acceptable sex and the definition excludes homosexuality without homosexuality.
A lot of churches want to draw people in, and then reveal later their full agenda.
In this essay, the Singaporean Christian is anti-Gay, but it is all wrapped up in the language of loving and understanding etc.

Christians really focus on how to convert Thailand to Christianity.
The Christians haven’t made progres in Thailand, but they are very focused on it. The fact that they haven’t made progress is to them a problem which they are seriously focused upon.

They want to get enough members so they can influence policy. If they do, part of that policy will be to fight against Gays. Even if they are a small minority, they are fanatical zealots against Gays and can have an impact.
Running down Thai Buddhism.
Total lack of respect. Look at the child with the glasses sticking his tongue out like they are at Disney land. Look at the pastor, he wants to represent going to a Thai temple as some type of zany thing.
Exploiting some Thai place for their religion. I wonder if they had permission?
A menace to the Thai LGBT
The existence of Thailand as a Gay friendly place, and as a place where being Gay friendly can be part of a successful society is likely to provoke the Christian right globally.
The Thai BL genera is an essential threat to the existence of Christianity globally.
The example of Taiwan, where Christian groups managed to defeat Gay marriage in a referendum is instructive.
Even though Christians are only about 3.9% of Taiwan’s population, working with American Christian groups they were able to have a referendum to defeat Gay marriage in Taiwan.
This article in New Bloom, English language edition in Taiwan, discusses how anti-Gay Christians got support from American Evangelicals to defeat Gay marriage by referendum in Taiwan.
From the following article:
It is probable that this gay-friendly image of Taiwan in Western media has provoked a sense of crisis in the Christian right internationally. This led to reportedly millions of USD coming into Taiwan from American Christian right groups and domestic mobilizations. As it has been widely reported, one of the founders of HTC, Cher Wang, backed the anti-LGBTQ campaigns in Taiwan with close to 30 million USD. Foundations owned by Wang are intimately tied to the anti-LGBTQ Evangelical organization, The International House of Prayers (IHOP), from the US.

They got funding from the United States Evangelicals is also explained in this article.

The following article is about Gay marriage advocates not giving up in Taiwan, but also the Christian groups and tactics that pushed Gay marriage to defeate in the referendum.

In this article you can see the Christian anti-Gay banners.

Christians in Taiwan aren’t the only example of a fanatic Christian minority. This group in Singapore got hostility after linking the Gay community to Satan.
The Christians in Thailand, if they get the slightest advantage, will be going after the LGBT and they will get a tremendous amount of funding from around the world.
The Evangelical Christians never rest and they view the LGBT as fundamentally denying their own validity and beliefs. They are a continuing danger.
