Good sources for science and technology.
We need to be informed and alot of stuff thrown up as science reporting is the worst junk. Homophobic Christians are often anti-science so this is another area we can have an advantage.
Subscriptions are free.
Good sources of information on the Internet.
I am just appalled on what is thrown up on Google news as valid science reporting. A lot of times it is just other news rewritten and sensationalized. When I have tracked down the original source of information I find it isn’t what they are making it out to be.
Gays need to have accurate information regarding health and generally be well informed.
Homophobic Christians are often those who are anti-science, so this is another area where we can have an advantage over them.
I have done regular science reading for decades and I am a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). I have a Masters of Science in Chemical Engineering from Univ. of California - Berkeley.
Good sources
Sky and Telescope
Arstechnica
Don’t look down on Arstechnica. I actually pay to subscribe to this.
They do articles exposing the various types of nonsense going on science, technology, medicine, engineering and computer science.
It is written in language that non-technical people can understand. No one knows all the fields of science and technology. You could have had a general understandin the the 1950s or 60s of all the fields of science, but that is no longer possible even for a person who is focused on science, and hasn’t been possible for a long time now.
The Daily Telescope is a fun section with a new astronoical photo daily.

Alien oceans on Ganymede.
About the Great Sphinx of Giza.
The ongoing controversy on whether we have free will.
They call out stuff and nonsense.

All the articles are free at Quanta Magazine. They cover science and technology, but also the human side of science and technology and also the big philosophical questions.

“The Physicist Who’s Challenging the Quantum Orthodoxy”

They have videos to explain topics.
“The Biggest Questions: Why is the universe so complex and beautiful?” This is from the MIT Technology Review. The have a lot of technology articles, but they are also interested in the broader questions. HOWEVER, they ration out three free articles per month that you can read. Choose wisely.

Nature
This is one of the two most credible scientific magazines in the English speaking world. The News and Comment section is free. The rest isn’t, but you probably could read it at a university library. They have a more global view of things.

“How AI is expanding art history.” Sometimes articles are free initially, but then later on have paywalls.

Science
Published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
They do have a limit on free articles to non-AAAS members.
Some of the articles are fairly heavy duty science articles, but the News Features are written for scientists in general. Scientifically educated people don’t know other fields that well, so the News Features are written for a broad audience.
“The Starwatcher” about a person who tracks down supernovas.

“Into the Dark” about the Euclid telescope and the plan to find out what dark energy is.
Some possible candidates.
This is published by a foundation and is for the general public. I haven’t read them, but did bookmark them.
So I can’t vouch for them, but they look legitimate.
If you have an online source that you think is good, let me know.
Conclusion
This isn’t going to be a science blog, but I do know that people have questions about the cosmos, free will, origin of life, quantum mechanics and the nature of reality.
I also know that Google just coughs up total junk as science news.
So I think I would provide this post as a resource.
