Letter to Advocate.com demanding an apology & a retraction for their hit piece against Grizzly Pines camp ground.
The Advocate.com hit piece against Grizzly Pines is part of their campaign against the idea that Gays are homosexual and trying to push transmen into Gay spaces and redefining Gay as homogender.

Dear Mr. Cooper:
I am writing to ask your publication, Advocate.com concerning an article on April 2, 2025, “Outrage follows after Texas gay campground double-down on banning transgender men from property,” by Christopher Wiggins.
https://www.advocate.com/news/transgender-men-banned-texas-campground
The actual timeline of events was as follows:
[1] Camp Grizzly Pines had a long-standing policy of not having transmen at their clothing optional camp grounds.
[2] The Houston Pines had made a reservation with full knowledge of this policy with Camp Grizzly Pines.
[3] A few days, prior to Transgender Day of Visibility, they decided that they should cancel the reservation because of the policy regarding transmen of Camp Grizzly Pines of which they full well did know about when they made the reservation.
[3] Camp Grizzly Pines responds on Transgender Day of Visibility with a very solicitous letter explaining their policy and how they don’t feel negatively about transgender individual. In no way can it be construed as “mocking.”
[4] John Anderson, who administers the Gay Camping Friends Facebook starts a campaign of denunciation of Camp Grizzly Pines.
[5] The Advocate.com has an article by Christopher Wiggins, which includes only one side of the story, primarily John Anderson’s attack on Grizzly Pines, and presents a misleading storyline.
You article misleads in its presentation of the series of events. You have this sequence.
[1] Camp Grizzly Pines posts their policy about transmen at their camp on Transgender Day of Visibility. As if they were out to attack transgender individuals.
[2] The Houston Bears “were the first to sever ties publicly.” They did sever ties, but it was before the Transgender Day of Visibility. The way the article presents it, the Houston Bears severed relations in reaction to the Grizzly Pines posting on Transgender Day of Visibility.
The subtitle, for the article was, “The venue unleashed a firestorm of criticism after posting the anti-trans statement online on Trans Day of Visibility, which in combination with the way the story was written, creates the impression that Camp Grizzly Bear decided to just attack trans with the statement they issued.
With the timeline distorted and selective quoting of what Camp Grizzly Bear stated, the Advocate.com uncritically reported John Anderson’s claim that Camp Grizzly Bear was mocking the Houston Bears. What Camp Grizzly was doing was stating that the Houston Bears only recently found the policy to be a problem.
The Advocate.com needs to do the following:
[1] Issue a correction to the article explaining what the story actually was and how they misrepresented it.
[2] An apology to Grizzly Pines.
[3] An apology to the Gay community at large, that is homosexual men, not homogender men, for an attack on Gay intimate spaces in this case, and an attempted erosion of the identities of Gay homosexual men.
Though late in development, Gays are mobilizing against the attempted demolition of their identities and the aggressions against them. The African American community doesn’t have the conceptualizations of cis-Africa American and trans-African Americans nor accept Rachel Dolezal as a trans-African American since they won’t put up with such nonsense for a picosecond.
The Advocate.com would do well to stop its ongoing attempts to erase Gay homosexual identity by the pushing of homogender identity and stop aiding and abetting those who would like to erase Gay homosexual identity.
Sincerely yours,
Edward H. Sebesta
