While I can’t confidentaly say this issue was a statistically significant factor contributing to the red wave and sweeping loss, (polling data would have to tell that story), I think it folly to ignore that it is A factor.

In pivotal elections- like this one- every factor should be explored, analyzed, and solved for. Otherwise, the losses will keep coming.

In many ways, Democrats overlooked the impact that “discomfort” played in household voter decisions. In order for it not to happen again, some uncomfortable discussions must be had and defining decisions will need to be made on who this party is going to be, what it’s about, who it will be for, and how it will show that. Otherwise, the future will remain red.

Correct. You have neatly summarized what I am trying to say. Also, I have my interpretation of what is happening, but also, everyone is free interpret these items as they wish. I have assembled these resources in one place for the record and every link has been submitted to the Internet archive. It is presentation of the political landscape. As events develop, this will be basically a repository of reference materials.

Thanks for the kind words and thoughtful article. I’ll be interested to see where the party lands on this, and other, issue(s) and how it will inform their strategy, narrative, platform, and priorities going forward.
