Wayne Howarth artist. Tiktok better than Instagram. Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence is like a Rotary Club. Gayborhoods & rising seas.
Some pithy Gay Tiktokers. Looking for Gay artists to include in the newsletter.
Subscriptions are free.
I want to apply my expertise in science to reviewing developments concerning Gay health and science. If there is something I am missing let me know.
Wayne Howarth’s new art.
There is a showcase of his art, but he is still creating a lot of new art and doing experimental work.
His X account. It is mostly uncensored. All of his links are in the following showcase post I did and for which I provide a link at the end of this section.

I am always looking to bring to the attention of the readership the work of Gay artists. It is free, I do the work, I just need the permission.
This link goes to the post which showcases his art and has links to where he is online.
Visited the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Dallas area. It is basically a community social group, rotary club, and quasi religious.
I went to visit since I wanted to ask questions and get information for a field trip to Thailand where I will be speaking to Gay/trans spirit mediums there.
They have evolved, it isn’t just a burlesque of Catholicism anymore. It is a community group which is service oriented and also provide social support and a social community. It is like a Rotary Club or maybe how the Masons were in their heyday. They have ranks, novices, initiates, and you work up ranks. They do projects and fundraisers and work to support the community.
They are somewhat syncretistic in their beliefs, having different members having different beliefs. They aren’t dogmatic or exclusionary.
Demographically they appear to be working class Gays, almost all white with some few Hispanics and Asians maybe. They did express concern over this and want to go out to some African American Gay events.
They weren’t fashionably dressed nor the Circuit Party set, but somewhat the opposite. They were friendly. They were very much organized. Some had one some flashy items, but most didn’t and there clothing was somewhat plain.
The age range goes from young to people over 60s. I think it provides a valuable function to provide a social community for those who otherwise might be alone
They were the only local group that had a memorial for a Nex Benedict who was murdered in Oklahoma. I did tell them that if they had a rally in the future, I would be glad to publish their presentation, and send them to me.
They have started a library, so after the meeting I purchased two books about the Thai spirit mediums and will donate them at the next meeting.
I don’t see myself as participating, but I do see them as a good grassroots group to be in contact with.
Tiktok is much better than Instagram or Facebook for Gays
Note: In this newsletter the NEXT Tiktok will be displayed, but click on it and you will see the Tiktok being discussed.
The space online for Gays and in particular for Gays in social media is shrinking. If they ban Tiktok it will shrink a lot. I put the link to the post about sideloading. It is a possibility that we might use to evade censorship.
On Tiktok Gays say what real Gays think and say. On Facebook and Instagram some whiny group would complain and it would be taken down.
I am not saying that there aren’t security issues, but I am not saying that there are security issues either. I don’t know. I also think that using the issue of security is a way for one company to take out another.
[1] For example, this is a commonly seen on Tiktok.
There is a sound track is and a text track in parallel:
First Person: “I am a beer and wine drinker, but once I start it is hard for me to stop sometimes.”
First Person Text: “I am bisexual, but I only date boys.”
Second Person: “You’re an alcoholic.”
Second Person Text: “You’re gay”
First Person: “Is that what it is!”
No Text:

Of course if it was on Instagram or a reel on Facebook the LGBTQXYZ establishment would whine it was biphobic and it would be taken down to “keep the community safe” or other vague made-up reason.
It is however an authentic expression of Gay folk knowledge that a lot of the supposed “bisexuals” are actually just homosexual and in denial.
[2] PREGNANT: These videos would be taken down really quickly, since MTF transmen would be screaming it was transphobic. However, it has nothing to do with trans people. It is Gays expressing the good feeling over not having to worry about pregnancy as a result of sex and it is just a joke about having lots of sex.

This is another one. This is the same person talking about dating his dad’s friend in the following Tiktok.

This person has a lot of interesting videos on Tiktok, but nothing really on his Instagram which has a total of six items. He knows his stuff would get pulled.

This a video commentary about Grindr.

The LGBTQXYZ leadership won’t care that the space for free Gay expression is shrinking, they likely would support this move against Tiktok it because they see Gay expressions as sometimes embarrassing. Please they want to be good Gays for the Democratic Party.

Is this a Gay issue? Marginally, maybe, but since a great many Gay neighborhoods are likely in danger, I thought I would share this.
One reason I have hesitate is that the Gay community is polarized on this reflecting the polarization on this in the general community.
However, I have to consider Gay interests first.
First Issue: Since Gays are to some extent more urbanized than straights, they have more exposure to major cities facing the issue of rising seas and stormier weather on those seas. HOWEVER, the straight people there are also facing it. It can’t be said to be really a Gay issue that much.
It is more a matter of a small margine of relative percentages.
I went back and forth in my mind whether to even have a short item on this. But recent developments made me think that I should. Howver, if you are living in a gayborhood that is likely going to be severely impacted, or eliminated it doesn’t make much difference whether theoretically it is a Gay issue or not.
The second issue might be if we have to move out of a gayborhood due to rising seas or stormier weather on the seas, it might be more difficult for gays to move elsewhere in a society facing real stress.
Yet, if most of the Gay community is in extreme crisis, I think we can just give up on making progress with Gay liberation.
So why do I think about whether to consider this at all? I have seen Gay groups and LGBT groups dragged off to fight on issues which really aren’t a Gay issue or LGBT issue. This was the issue in the 1980s when more people came out and they all thought the Gay movement should be dragged off to their pet cause.
So lets discuss this specific scientific issue.
Turns out there are two things.
1. Sea level is rising.
2. Ground is subsiding.
So this combination isn’t good. It exacerbates the problem of sea level rising.
Background info.
The news coming in the scientific press isn’t very good. It isn’t just that the year was much warmer than other years, the oceans have gotten warmer, much more than the scientists expected. The oceans have been slowing down global warming by absorbing heat, but if they ware getting warmer faster, then their ability to absorb heat is less.
I am not going to go through all the developing issues, but it really doesn’t look good. Also, the disastrous issues concerning global warming aren’t in the vague future, they are beginning to kick in now.
I think you have to be somewhat proactive now. How you might be impacted I don’t think necessarily has to be some type of direct thing like being below sea level. It might be that insurance rates will go up since it is likelier that your house will be impacted by storms or sea surges. Or the taxes go up because they are building sea walls and a more extensive infrastructure to drain the city. Or your city starts declining because financial firms don’t want 30-year mortgage notes on commercial property or corporations no longer want to locate there.
Of course if the mortgage companies stop giving 30-year mortgages or start wanting significantly higher downpayments that will really crush the local real estate markets. Corporations will start relocating out of the area and people won’t want to move there. You could end up having to sell your house at a huge reduced price.
