Examples of how to bypass your local LGBTQXYZ Inc.
Just one person can selectively pick issues and start developing a Gay movement in their town.
I have discussed bypassing the LGBTQXYZ by undertaking issues that the LGBTQXYZ won’t or can’t address, but are of concern to the Gay community. I put a link to that post at the end of this newsletter.
The LGBTQXYZ is mostly social workers getting local funding or employed by academic institutions or corporations. They can’t upset local municipal government or local middle class heteronormative neoliberal opinion without jeopardizing their funding or being a problem to their employer.
Or there are issues which the LGBTQXYZ will be embarrassed about or be concerned that the straight establishment might not like.
An individual has an opportunity to be a voice in their local Gay community and have influence by taking up these issues.
It is a great way to show how the LGBTQXYZ establishment neglects the issues of Gays and thereby discredit the LGBTQXYZ establishment. The Gay community will be interested in issues that have a real impact on their lives and the neglect of these issues by the LGBTQXYZ has real impacts on their lives.
It is important to understand that these are issues which just one person can do.
These may not be the same issues you might do where you are, they are examples of what I am doing to show that there are opportunities for an individual to report on issues and bypass the LGBTQXYZ. The issues are there, you just need to start asking questions and read my post on what opportunities might be there. Again, it is at the end of this post, titled, “Bypassing the LGBTQXYZ”
How have I implemented this idea locally? The following are some examples.
Advocate for a Dallas Police Hate Crimes Unit and for a Human Rights Commission.
The City of Dallas doesn’t have a Human Rights Commission. The nearby city of Fort Worth has had one since 1967. You would think that in 2023 Dallas would have such a commission, but the right wing in this city has been in opposition.
I have been concerned about this issue since when I moved here in the late 1980s. You might ask why local civil rights leaders haven’t demanded it, the answer is they don’t want to run up against the local establishment and get on the naughty activist list. So the politics of the civil rights leaders have been lots of talk, but avoiding real issues.
With the recent shooting in Colorado Springs, I have decided to write all the City Council people about getting a human rights commission and a Dallas police department hate crimes unit.
Gay people not in the local little LGBTQXYZ clique will see these really good things to do and they aren’t going to accept excuses. The local LGBTQXYZ will attempt excuses and they will discredit themselves.
Dallas City Council meeting invocations being given by persons from homophobic institutions.
Your local LGBTQXYZ won’t want this issue brought up. They will afraid of the city administration getting upset and losing their funding or being known as a trouble maker.
I am finding that supposed friends of the Gay community are having representatives of homophobic groups give invocations.
You also may find something really serious lurking in your city. Also, the Christian groups are likely to make a big issue of this and now you are the defender of the Gay community. It will give you a platform to speak, but also people will wonder what were the supposed “leaders” of the LGBTQXYZ doing something about this, were they aware? The local LGBT+ Democrats will reveal themselves to be just vote harvesters for the Democratic Party since they will not want to get involved because it would be upsetting to the local power structure.
This is Part One of my report to the Dallas City Council. It is three parts since they were having a lot of people from homophobic groups, it turns out three-quarters of them, give invocations.
Tracking the Dallas County response to monkeypox.
The Dallas County health department was initially slow in responding to monkeypox and I started to plot case numbers showing an exponential increase.
Later their graphing was really poor and so I did graphing of the states to show the progress or lack of progress.
I gave a presentation about the Dallas County Health Dept. response to the Dallas County elected representatives.
I didn’t get everything I wanted them to do, but I got some improvements. More importantly it was something that a lot of Gays locally were interested. Some of my posts that I linked to on twitter got considerable interest.
The local LGBTQXYZ was very concerned that monkeypox wasn’t known as a Gay disease even though 98.5+% of the cases in Dallas County were men. The attitude was that it was the naughty Gays not living in monogamous relationships which got it.
Report on local LGBT+ groups of which the LGBTQXYZ strongly disapprove.
There was a LGBT+ Antifa type of group that had a big march down the primary street in the local Gayborhood. They had videos of their march. One video got 218,000 views. They are showing up to provide protection at drag shows when our local anti-drag protestors show up.
When they had their initial parade down our primary street in the Gayborhood our local LGBTQXYZ media gave them zero, I repeat zero coverage. Often the local LGBTQXYZ paper thinks they are in charge of running the community.
I did an extensive report on the parade and their efforts. It got a lot of local interest.
It also discredited the LGBTQXYZ media here since Gays began to realize that important local news was being censored.
This group got banned from twitter so the links maybe missing.
Who are the local homophobic individuals, churches and groups in Dallas?
The City of Dallas usually has the local LGBT Chamber of Commerce talk to corporations which want to locate their headquarters to Dallas to give the impression that Dallas is a LGBT friendly city. Dallas doesn’t want a national image of being a local hotspot of homophobia. People won’t move to a local hotspot of homophobia even if they are not LGBT+, and without talented people corporations won’t move there and in some cases they will leave.
The local LGBTQXYZ establishment don’t want to upset the boosterism of Dallas.
As a result, the prevalence of homophobia is in some instances downplayed. That is my big leverage on the writing about the invocations with City Hall.
Modern establishments really hate a ruckus being raised.
I did a series of posts on significant anti-LGBT groups in the Dallas area. I am still writing up some. I also did a post to serve as a directory with a list of the other posts.
Again, the Gay community can start to see that the LGBTQXYZ media is avoiding reporting on issues that are vital for the Gay community to know.
My reporting on one of these homophobic groups got a big condemnation from them.
Summary
My readership is building slowly, but locally Gays are beginning to realize that I am reporting on issues of vital interest to the Gay community that they aren’t going to find out elsewhere.
I am going to be launching some other efforts which will give me a voice in the public discussion of Gay issues.
What I want people to understand is that while you don’t have to do as much as I am doing, just one person by focusing on a few issues can start becoming a presence in their community by undertaking issues that the LGBTQXYZ won’t undertake.
You could posts more complaints on twitter, but if you want real change you can find the opportunities in your community and start influencing the narrative.
