The Man Haters: The Genocidal dreams of Sandra Newman and the hatreds of Pauline Harmange.
We need to be separate from those who hate us. For Gay men to expect to be part of movements that tolerate man hating is absurd.
A novel built on sexist stereotypes in which a utopia is created by the annihilation of men. This is simply is a novel based on man hating. This is a review of the novel, “The Men,” by Sandra Newman in the publication The Atlantic.

The vicious nature of this novel and its sexist ideas isn’t called out, instead the reviewer is discussing how a world without men would be boring.
Imagine if a novelist wrote something titled, “The Africans,” and the premise was that all of a sudden, all persons of African descent disappeared. There would be screaming and denunciation all over the place. In fact, no novelist would dare to write such a thing in the first place.
Then there is the book, “I Hate Men,” by Pauline Harmange. This is a review of the book in The Guardian.
The headline includes a quote, “We should have the right not to like men.” The author of the book is dishonest. She didn’t write the book, “I dislike men,” but the book, “I hate men.”
Could you imagine what would happen if someone wrote a book “I hate Africans,” or I Hate Jews”? All hell would break loose.
The interview gives Harmange a free pass.
So does this New York Times article.

“Touches a nerve,” is the dismissive title of the controversy.
Evidently this is a new trend in French feminism where I guess feminists are one-upping each other in how radical they are.
The short book, “I Hate Men” is part of a recent revival of anti-male sentiment in French feminist literature. Like Harmange, Alice Coffin, an elected councilor for the city of Paris, touched on misandry in “Lesbian Genius,” published by Grasset in late September (translation rights in English have yet to be sold). While the book is primarily a retelling of her experience as a lesbian journalist and activist, paired with a series of interviews with American L.G.B.T. journalists, a section is devoted to “men’s war” on women.
The book, “I Hate Men,” has been picked up by HarperCollins, a major publisher who have published it for the American market.

If a major American publisher decided to publish white supremacist books there would be screaming and denunciations. No major publisher would do it in the first place.
Yet this vicious book is considered acceptable. This is her twitter.
Lots of Twitter “feminists” seem to love it.

However, these recent manifestations, where they actually say it out loud, that they hate men, has a precedent. It was the political Lesbian movement which argued that men were so terrible that straight women should become Lesbians. It was totally delusional and an obvious manifestation of man hating, but the movement is still going with no one daring to say it is delusional.
Here is an article from Feminist Current which states there is an ongoing multigenerational discussion.
In this Guardian article Political Lesbianism is discussed as if it might be a credible choice rather than lunacy.

If you are a leftist man evidently you just cave into man hating.
Recently some Gay activists have done reports on the rabid Gay hating of some radfems. I will put some links to articles about that at the end of this post.
When feminism started out there were some men who tried to falsely characterize them as man haters. When women have raised issues about sexism and criticized some of the behaviors and attitude of men, there were men who self-servingly accused that they were man haters. Anti-Lesbian individuals have falsely asserted that Lesbians were man haters.
However, it seems that there are elements in the feminist movement who are actually man haters and they are either excused or given a free pass by the liberal left.
What does this mean for Gays?
What it means is that some Lesbian will be venting their man hating hostility at some LGBTQXYZ venue and the neoliberal Gay men will give them a free pass to do so.
It means that it is ludicrous for Gay men to see the feminists and Lesbian movement as being automatically being allies. In some ways the progress of the feminists does change culture to make it easier for the Gay community to exist, but not always. On various specific issues the feminist and Lesbians can be allies. But again, they aren’t automatically allies.
Movements which tolerate man hating ideologies are not allies of a community of men of which the Gay community is. They are potential dangers to Gays instead.
Being absorbed into the Alphabet Soup of LGBTQXYZ or under the name of “queer” the Gay community is asked to co-exist with these hostile elements.
In the academic world, studies of the Gay community are often presented as queer studies and a part of Gender Studies which is usually an academic department which was Woman’s Studies, but now under another name. What academic output that might occur from a Gay man, if indeed there are any Gay men in the department, rather than pansexuals or Gay identified transmen and asexuals, is going to be carefully constructed as not to offend the feminists running the department.
The Gay community needs to have Gay-centric groups and it needs to have Gay studies and not queer studies and leave the LGBTQXYZ.
We need to separate from those who hate us.

I discuss hostility towards Gay men in this essay.
