I did get my data recovered at the cost of $2600. Don’t let your data be saved on a hard drive and one supposedly RAID unit. Have them save it to two good SSD drives. I will never purchase an OWC data backup unit again or a Seagate drive.
When you have trouble deleting a folder in Windows 11, you might have to repair the Seagate drive in Windows and then fix it. It will flag you when you first connect the drive, and just click on the notice that it needs to be repaired.
Another 22TB Seagate is not working right. 8TB Sandisk extreme is not working right either.

LGBTQ+ Charities I have never heard of.
I get some mailings and also there are ads that show up in my Facebook feed of LGBTQ+ groups wanting donations. All, or most of the news about them is on their own websites. I am not seeing them mentioned much, if at all, in the LGBT news anywhere else.
Even when they do show up in LGBQ+ publications, it sometimes it seems that the publication just ran the story to have some news.
Even when they are real, it is hard to see specifically what they actually did. The fight for this or that.
Most importantly, it isn’t clear that they are accountable to any set of members. They are a self-perpetuating group, with a leadership that isn’t elected, or it is an election that is not contested, and their primary activity is raising funds.
Given that they need funds, they become captive to those institutions, groups, foundations, and governmental agencies that will fund them.
To put an end to self-created and self-perpetuating groups which aren’t accountable to any membership, don’t give them your money.

No new cases of Clade 1b outside Africa. No cases in North Carolina despite the report of finding Clade 1 DNA in wastewater there. Makes me think that there might of been a testing error.
In Africa it continues to spread to new nations and the vacciantion efforts continue along. I think what is going to happen is that it will spread everywhere in Subsahara Africa and then either everyone will eventually have gotten mpox or gotten vaccinate.

Our hope to have a vaccine for HIV continues to face worsening obstacles.
It will impact also the ability to have vaccines for STDs. Besides HIV, development is happening for herpes vaccines.
I think this technology could likely work on all STDs.

One potential political counter force against this, might results from the development of therapeutic vaccines for cancer which get the immune system to recognize a cancer as foreign and attack it.
People are going to take a dim view of having to go to a foreign country to get a successful treatment for cancer or watching someone they love die, because mRNA vaccines aren’t available.

It just isn’t that we will have to travel to a foreign nation, America will lose its leadership in medical technology. Surely more than a few nations see an opportunity here to develop mRNA technologies with American science programs halted and blocked.

I don’t care if the homophobes don’t get vaccinated. They might get sick, be permanently impaired or die. However, I don’t want us to die so if the vaccine is available and we take it and they don’t, I am alright with that. However, it seems that antivaxxers are quite content to let their children die, and they are innocent.
Again, if you haven’t gotten vaccinated, now would be a good time.
Also, make sure your passport is up to date so you can go to Canada to get needed vaccines, like for an HIV vaccine if it comes out.

This really burns me up. I understand the transman on the show is very smug about it on TikTok.

This might be the thing to get Gay men mobilized about so-called Gay transmen pushing themselves into the Gay community. Up until this time, the Gay transmen are too timid to push themselves in person, and mostly whine about Gays not wanting to date them, or occasionally, a Gay person showed up and realized that he should have looked more closely at the transman’s pictures on Grindr.
If you get some smug condescending attitude from some social justice person, just ask them why there are no cis or trans African in terms of transracialism. Ask them whether Rachel Dolezal is African American or not. I am sure they will blabber out rationalizations, but they won’t really have an answer.

In the 1970s in Vancouver, Canada, some Liberal/Left Gays said they would be willing to be evacuated last if there was threat of nuclear war since they couldn’t produce children.
That was the story told to me by a Gay Trotskyist from Vancouver, but it seems credible, since Gays at that time were always trying to prove something to straight people.
I thought of it, when the conflict between two nuclear powers, India and Pakistan, was going on.
With the fighting between Pakistan and India, prior to the current cease fire, we were close to having a war between two nuclear powers.
While reading the news about the conflict I remembered this article from 2010 in Scientific American as to what would happen if they had a war. India and Pakistan have a limited supply of nuclear weapons and they are fission, not fusion. However, it is likely that the global impact due to starvation due to the impact on the weather might mean a billion people starve to death.

We wouldn’t have a nuclear winter, but it would be hard to raise crops. Not enough sunshine, low temperatures, unseasonal frosts, and droughts. The hard ultraviolet would start reaching the ground since ozone would be impacted.

I think that in a catastrophe, likely there will be rationalizations why Gays are disposable. Also, as has been pointed out, the charitable agencies are often run by homophobic religious groups, you might be estranged from your family, and charitable agencies already have a families first police. You could reduce radiation exposure by taking mineral supplements so that the body wouldn’t take up as many radionuclides. By taking calcium, it would compete with radio strontium for update by the bones.
You would need more than a broad rim hat. Ultraviolet would be scattered like the blue light is scattered now and it would come at you from the entire sky. You would need to cover your entire skin and have glasses that block ultraviolet.
But as for food, I am not sure what you would do. You would need much more than a month. However, if you hear news of a nuclear bomb detonated, stop whatever you are doing and rush to buy food, as much as possible and keep it a secret. Don’t look well fed, you will need to stretch your food, but also not let on that you have some.

Update: Seems the idea of tariffs for foreign movies has been called off. Still it wouldn’t hurt to sign the petition. The way things are going it might be back on next Tuesday or later.
Mailed a letter to President Trump to exempt non-English speaking foreign films that use subtitles. This global cultural force reached the United States it would be a powerful force against homophobia.
Never purchasing a Seagate drive again. SanDisk 8TB SSD drive later failed. No Lenovo. Passing on some learnings.
The 22TB Seagate drives didn’t work well. One of the two 2TB Seagate Drives I bought to back up my computer has already died in less than a week. They are slow. Fortunately. I backed up my drive on 5/10/2025 on four other drives.
I purchased 6 Extreme Pro Portable SSD SanDisk. One has failed already.
My new Lenovo is acting up. Went into a perpetual restart loop and I just bought it. Had to unplug it and close and open it.
So I am buying a powerful Business class Dell. Precision 7770.
As for the Seagate drives, it is going to be “Hammer Time.”
